Good evening bloggers,
Got home from the food fast this afternoon just around 12. Got 'ome, and dropped in bed until 6:15.
So why did I drop for six hours? Well, let's recap my wonderful 24 hours at the church:
Got up around 9:30, showered and stuffed down an impossible number of pancakes, then rushed out the door thinking we were gonna be late. We weren't, but people didn't even start really coming in until a good hour after the thing started; i laughed at their insolence. Anyway, we watched some slide show about hunger and disease and then played this "sit down if" game followed by a another game, "pull up", where we had to run across a circle of chairs and pull someone of the opposite sex up and take their seat. Yay? Hm.. so we.. went to the chapel.. talked, and then had some free time. My brother and several others played music that was actually really good. Meanwhile I played "weed" with a few friends.
A few prayers and gatherings later, and after an incredible speech from a great guy, Dave, whose life is just a great tale to hear, we attended to the Good Friday liturgy in the Church above us. Now, we were told to bring something nice to wear, I did, but what I brought wasn't really great and it didn't appear like I put much thought it grabbing it; which is correct. I didn't. In fact, I along with nearly everyone else did the same thing. But, the honor of carrying the cross for the veneration of it was thrust on me unexpectedly and I had to do it in what I had. The veneration of the cross is a huge deal if you don't know what it is. It's probably one of the oldest traditions in the church dating back before even the split of the church, I believe, and it was really an honor to do it. Thankfully we didn't eff it up x.x
So we came back, did some prayer activity stuff, had a bunch of free time, slide show drinks and sending the middle school students home at 11. After that we put in movies on the projector, people got their sleeping stuff out, I didn't, and time passed. Um.. we played the hat game, click click bang bang, green glass doors, and this is the way we sweep the floor. Um.. people did drinking games, we blasted music in the kitchen which is where the games took place. There were only about 15 of us who just stayed up all night. Um.. I kinda snorted hot cocoa with some people just for laughs like it was cocaine or something ahahaha. My bad. It was just funny, I'll never do drugs.
So the movies continued when we were forced outa the kitchen around 4am, we just kinda sat in the darkness outside the counter to the kitchen hallway and talked. Then we went and sat around on our own pretty much and watched the movies. The movies didn't ever actually end for us to sleep, cause I eventually dozed off a little into Bee movie and and woke up for the last hour of it. It was about 7:45 when I woke, and the movie's not that long, plus I'd watched some before I dozed off.
As you can see, that left me with about 45 minutes to an hour of sleep last.. morning... so I was utterly dead when we finally left. Of course we couldn't leave and eat until time was up and that was at 11 so we enjoyed a lovely morning stroll in the freezing weather walking about the pond nearby. There's a nice path. Found a cool ledge to lay myself down on for a little while.
And so, I was dead from all that time w/o sleep and w/o food. 24 fast wasn't that bad, just the sleep deprivation. But I enjoyed it and that's what mattered.
Woke up and was supposed to the carnival tonight. Didn't go. Wound up going to my friends house till 10:30. That was fun. We watched part of the notebook but no one really payed attention. They kept trying to bribe me into kissing my male friend. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
